About David Collins

My name is David Collins and on my best days I like to call myself a writer. On my worst days I call myself other things. I’ve been writing for several years now. I’ve had several short stories published, and I’ve written three novels so far, two of them published. My work is in the fantasy genre. I will soon be playing with the action/adventure genre (think Edgar Rice Burroughs or Doc Savage). We’ll see how that goes.

In between writing assignments, I’ve also managed to teach myself computer generated art, animation and modeling (with the help of several very patient online friends). The book trailers for Sandryn’s Glow and Sandryn’s Children were created by me using my software of choice, Carrara and Hexagon. The gallery images were also created by me on my trusty computer. I guess you could say that I’m slowly beginning to consider myself a CG artist. So that’s another thing I like to call myself.

I’m also a homeschooling parent in addition to being a writer and an artist, but that’s a whole other story all by itself.

My supportive and loving wife, Cathy, always makes sure I have plenty of projects to do around the house just to keep me grounded in real life. If it weren’t for her, well, I’d have more time to devote to writing and art, but that’s another story, too.
